Foraminifera Associated With Swirled Spartina Patens Beds on Perched Marshes Along the Rocky Coastline of Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia

چکیده

ABSTRACT Perched marshes in Lunenburg County differ exposure to prevailing waves (from most least exposed: Crescent Beach, Blue Rocks, Feltzen South). We sampled the middle marsh, recording replicates’ dried masses. In picking stage 1 (PS1), first 400 foraminifera, whether agglutinated or calcareous-walled, were picked and identified. From these data we calculated Shannon Function H compared between-locale signals of benthic foraminifera using a relative-dominance index, ACW, for calcareous-walled foraminifera. Beach was distinct locale with much medium-grained quartz sand abundant allochthonous calcareous (hence ACW < 1). The other sites’ ACWs ranged from ∼50–100. There significant negative ACW:residue mass correlation. 2 (PS2), remaining picked. South perched marsh yielded only Miliammina fusca, perhaps reflecting high %N %C. Meanwhile, Trochammina inflata at Rocks.

Application of a nested-grid ocean circulation model to Lunenburg Bay of Nova Scotia: Verification against observations

[1] A nested-grid ocean circulation modeling system is used to study the response of Lunenburg Bay in Nova Scotia, Canada, to local wind-forcing, tides, remotely generated waves, and buoyancy forcing in the summer and fall of 2003. Quantitative comparisons between observations and model results demonstrate that the modeling system reproduces reasonably well the observed sea level, temperature, ...

The upper echelon theory (Hambrick and Mason 1984) posits that the firm is a reflection and extension of the entrepreneurs that manage it. Thus, w...
